I don't remember when, maybe last July or sometime, I was directed to this site that had a really amazing time-based work (& I do mean time based) called Industrious Clock. Well, they did another similar one with children's blocks called Clock Block. Fun. The navigation is really clean & well designed, too. I poached it from Coudal Partners. Thank goodness for all those people with more time to spend looking for things on the internet than I do.

I registered a domain name today. After a couple of days fretting about what it would be called I settled on the simple "lomblad.net". I felt a bit uncomfortable getting a .com because it has a vaguely capitalistic feel & not that I'm not proud to be American USA! USA! USA! USA is #1! or whatever but hmm...there's just something... Don't tromp over to that address expecting something to look at, though. We're taking babysteps. Some not minor inspiration came from several cups of coffee over breakfast at the Fullerton & a trip to the Columbia College Library (rather than my photo seminar & speech class) to look at photobooks & take notes. I looked at Richard Misrach, Martin Parr, William Christenberry & Garry Winogrand. They make a person feel good about what they're doing or at least me. I managed to ride the wave of caffiene-fueled energy & start working on a book-type thing of polaroids that I meant to finish in February. If you were wondering about the negative eBay sentiments, it's because it tricked me into buying another camera. No, I can't afford it & yes, I had to sell records to pay for it. Don't tell anyone, I'm embarrassed.

Fuck you eBay.

Being broke is lame. I've got to sell stuff to pay the bills. It's funny how I'll sell a huge amount of lps or whatever & it'll be a sort of struggle to do it but later it seems pretty easy; later, when I need to do it again, it's like the hardest thing in the world. I don't think that I used that semi-colon correctly. Maybe I'll get some things done with some of the money, though. I've got to register a domain name, which I haven't decided on yet, and I'm going to get my piece of shit free car registered & insured. It's snowing.
