I registered a domain name today. After a couple of days fretting about what it would be called I settled on the simple "lomblad.net". I felt a bit uncomfortable getting a .com because it has a vaguely capitalistic feel & not that I'm not proud to be American USA! USA! USA! USA is #1! or whatever but hmm...there's just something... Don't tromp over to that address expecting something to look at, though. We're taking babysteps. Some not minor inspiration came from several cups of coffee over breakfast at the Fullerton & a trip to the Columbia College Library (rather than my photo seminar & speech class) to look at photobooks & take notes. I looked at Richard Misrach, Martin Parr, William Christenberry & Garry Winogrand. They make a person feel good about what they're doing or at least me. I managed to ride the wave of caffiene-fueled energy & start working on a book-type thing of polaroids that I meant to finish in February. If you were wondering about the negative eBay sentiments, it's because it tricked me into buying another camera. No, I can't afford it & yes, I had to sell records to pay for it. Don't tell anyone, I'm embarrassed.
