This is really cool. And you can email the results to people. Sheesh. It's been so cold that I get icicles on my crappy beard, just like the guys in the ads for North Face or whatever. Yesterday I meant to post something that made my day. I found out that an instructor at my school is the son of Archie Shepp, famous jazzer. It's fucking unbelieveable! I'm not one to just throw around exclaimation points, either. He said that maybe next he's in town we could maybe "get together". Unbelieveable! Me & Archie Shepp sitting at a table eating noodles & talking about blah blah whatever, but it's Archie Shepp! Okay, maybe not many other people would be as freaked out. I swear I won't ask him for his autograph but damn, Archie Shepp. Enough of that. What am I gonna do with two weeks off? Go to movies, that's what.
If you're wondering how to drive a reasonably well-balanced young man to murder, a good start would be to put Duran Duran's Hungry Like A Wolf on repeat for several hours at his workplace. Don't anyone hand me one of these.

For brunch we'll be having a fine aged 3 Musketeers Bar from the Ace Hardware where I bought some shelf brackets & some RC Cola. I may be the only person in the world who likes flat soda. As long as it's ice-cold, I'll drink it. The faster you get a stomach-ache, the faster it goes away, right? Not sleeping alone on a cold winter's night is grand, just grand. Go see Drumline. You won't regret it. I got goosebumps.

For the skill portion of my performance today, I added email links to the top & bottom links bars. Ta-dah! It really is like magic. It was a long time since I'd had an Egg McMuffin. It'll probably be another long time. The best things about today were blank DVDRs for cheap at MicroCenter & once again, the Epson 9600 Ink Jet Printer. I'd sell my Grandma Faye for one & she's a real nice lady. Thumbs down to deadlines, overpriced art-supply stores, empty bank accounts & ill-fitting clothes. I listened to some music but all I can remember is DJ Shadow's Private Press LP. It's a grower. Try not to be underwhelmed.

I re-met a girl (read: crush) the other night. I kissed her & she kissed me back. So far, so good, right? Keep you posted.

Began my semester break & celebrated MLK Day with a fine breakfast of cold pizza & orange juice (pulp please). It's better than you think, don't judge. After my second nap in as many days I read a little bit more of the John Irving novel "A Widow for One Year" that my roommate just finished. It's got all of the requisite Irving-isms: death, prep school, the upper East Coast, love affairs, multiple viewpoints & a long timeline. It's just what I needed after trying & failing to tackle No Logo in the middle of the semester. Trying to read Saul Bellow's "Dangling Man" didn't help me escape either. Soundtrack of the day includes Death Cab For Cutie's Photo Album, the Liars They Threw Us In A Trench... & Can's Monster Movie. Hooray for Nutty Bars.
