I will break the weblog silence to link to slice, a weblog about pizza. Yum. All 3 of you who read this will undoubtedly be wondering about the lack of new content here & on the lomblad webjam. The Jan. 1 deadline is past & still nothing. Here is my new pledge. March first will see the launch of a new site AND a movabletype-based, community weblog. Those of you interested in contributing to the weblog, please email me here.

Interesting article about the iPod from the NY Times.
New, brand new, website by the 1st of the year. You heard it here first, although, where else would you hear it & how many people are really hearing it anyway? I suppose I'll send out a frantic email in about 28 days.

As reminded by a conversation with friends, you can listen to every single episode of This American Life for free from their website.

Also, completely off the subject...Did anyone ever see or know someone who saw an episode of the TV show the Hat Squad? So much useless information in my head, so much.

If you're thinking of buying me a Christmas present, here's some help.
After visiting Yale again & discovering that my average competition for one of those 9 spots in the MFA program has multiple degrees from multiple fancy schools & teaches photography to underprivileged children of South American diplomats on their lunch breaks, I spent the day in Manhattan bolstering my confidence with such inspiring shows as the following...

Nikki S. Lee
Wolfgang Tillmans
Simen Johan
Wim Wenders
Tom Hunter
James Casebere

and the most amazing

Robert Adams

Making pictures is the best.

You don't have to look too far to find news of the weird.

Some pretty darn nice posters by Philadelphians Heads of State.
I don't seem to be getting much work done today but this is too good to pass up.

How Lego Bricks Are Made.

I'd forgotten just how irritating & stressful filling out college applications could be. At age 29, at least I have the benefit of writing my Social Security number over & over for more than 10 years. That'll save me some time, right?
There's an interview with NPR's Ira Glass in the Onion. In it he talks about a couple of things that have been bouncing around my head for a while. One: Why do people watch bad TV? I watch both CSIs not only because they have really cool fake science but because there just plain bad. Two: In a related theme, why do people eat Domino's Pizza? I eat it & like it & then regret it. He also has interesting thoughts on on-air fundraising & jousting.
Reminded early this morning of the mad foam-core genuis of Tom Sachs by Coudal.
